Leslie Abi-Karam
Title: Executive Vice President and President, Mailing Solutions Management, Pitney Bowes Inc.

Leslie Abi-Karam was named Executive Vice President and President, Mailing Solutions Management in February 2008.  In this role, Leslie is responsible for over $3.5 billion in global revenue from the company’s core mailing solutions, production mail and services businesses.  She is also accountable for Global Supply Chain and Engineering, supplying worldwide products, Global Enterprise Direct Procurement, source for commodity spend/management for Pitney Bowes, and Customer Operations, providing service and support to over 1.5 million US Mailing customers at every touch point.

Prior to her current position, Leslie was Executive Vice President and President, Document Messaging Technologies (DMT).  During her tenure the DMT hardware business reestablished its position as the worldwide product leader.  She also expanded the unit’s reach into the $4 billion customer communication management market by developing a broad software portfolio.  This included the successful acquisition and integration of Group 1 Software in 2004.  In 2006, Emtex, a leader in print room management services, and Sure-Feed Engineering, with capabilities in the rapidly expanding promotional mail and fulfillment markets, were added.  The largest acquisition in Pitney Bowes’ history, MapInfo Corporation, closed in April of 2007, and further expanded the software portfolio in the location intelligence space.  Under Leslie’s leadership the DMT business unit more than tripled revenue and EBIT.

Leslie has been a driving force for innovation during her career at PBI.
From 1999 - 2001 she led the largest global launch of product and solutions in Pitney Bowes history, bringing the Digital Meter Series, a completely new generation of digital, internet-enabled postage meters to market in a two-year timeframe.  She also guided the evolution of the DMT operating unit into a business that encompasses both the physical and digital worlds, improving flow of data, documents and packages in the mailstream.

Leslie first joined Pitney Bowes in 1984 as an Industrial Engineer. She has held a variety of management positions in the company, including Vice President of After-Market Operations for the copier division and Vice President of Customer Operations, responsible for all customer-facing functions in the copier division.

She serves on the Senior Management Committee of Pitney Bowes, the executive team responsible for setting the direction of the corporation.  She also sits on the boards of Pentair, Inc., a $3.3B global diversified operating company based in Minneapolis, MN, and the Direct Marketing Association (DMA).

She holds an MBA degree from the University of Bridgeport and an Engineering degree from Northeastern University, where she is a member of the corporation.
