As the Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer for Pitney Bowes, Mr. Timko will lead the development of Pitney Bowes’ strategy and long-term priorities, lead the Advanced Concepts & Technology Group, and ensure that innovation is closely linked to these priorities in order to support the long-term growth of the company.
Mr. Timko brings an extensive background in consulting and technology to this role. He joins Pitney Bowes from McKinsey & Company where he was a Partner in the Technology/Telecom and Industrial Sector Practice. There he led engagements for Fortune 500 companies in industries such as communications equipment and services, IT software and services, industrial controls, and chemicals. His expertise, which was developed over 13 years at the firm, enabled successful consulting engagements focused on business strategy, marketing and sales, business development and M&A, turnarounds, and operations.
Prior to McKinsey, Mr. Timko was a product manager and R&D leader for Bell Laboratories/Lucent Technologies for over a decade where he led projects and delivered software/hardware products to customers on-time and within budget. Products he developed, or led the development of, ultimately contributed over $500 million in sales. He developed hands-on experience as an operating manager with a track record.
At both Bell and McKinsey, Mr. Timko was recognized as people developer. In 2007, he received the highest upward feedback score among 1100 partners and is consistently ranked in the top 10% in overall effectiveness in leading teams.
Mr. Timko received an MBA from The Wharton School as a Palmer Scholar, the school’s highest academic honor. He also received a Master of Science degree from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science Summa Cum Laude from Virginia Tech, both in electrical engineering.
