44 Million Steps for Pitney Bowes, One Giant Leap for Employee Health & Wellness

Kristen Carlucci, RD
Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Expert for Pitney Bowes
On May 16, over 3,000 Pitney Bowes employees across the globe laced up their sneakers to participate in the 6th Annual PB Employees Are One in a Million walking event. Our goal? To walk 40 million steps as a company.

So did we do it?  That…and then some—surpassing our target by more than 4.5 million steps!

Pitney Bowes CEO, Murray Martin, kicked off the event at World Headquarters in Stamford, CT. His message to employees: Small lifestyle changes can find a place in our busy schedules, and ultimately make a huge impact on our overall health and well being.

Group and individual walking events took place at PB sites throughout the United States, Canada, Portugal and India. PB Presort in Brown Deer, Wisconsin received the grand prize trophy for averaging the most steps per participant (an impressive 29,823 steps a day).

Pitney Bowes Project:Living (www.pbprojectliving.com) has become a true leader in providing health and wellness initiatives for employees and their families. We are dedicated to creating a culture of health that keeps our workforce healthy and happy. Through weight loss and fitness program offerings, benefits resources, health-related discounts, preventive care screenings, chronic disease management, financial advising, emotional support and more, we hope to show our appreciation and give back to those who have done so much to build this great company.

And with next year’s pledge to reach 52 million steps for the 7th Annual PB Employees are One in a Million Day event… we definitely don’t plan on slowing down any time soon.
