Vicki O’Meara is Executive Vice President and President, Pitney Bowes Services Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI). As President, Ms. O’Meara’s responsibilities include oversight of Pitney Bowes Services Solutions commercial business, which serves many of the top Fortune 1000 companies, and both its Legal Solutions business – which focuses on the top 200 law firms – and its Government Solutions group, which serves the U.S. Postal Service and key federal government agencies. Ms. O’Meara also is responsible for Pitney Bowes Services Solutions International, where her role is to ensure that business capabilities are leveraged globally, and provide a deeper focus on customer needs and requirements in the Canadian and European regions.
In addition to her role with Pitney Bowes Services Solutions, Ms. O’Meara leads Pitney Bowes’ global Government Relations and Postal Affairs functions, and serves as the executive leader of Imagitas, Inc., a multi-channel marketing services division, which is a strategic partner to the U.S. Postal Service and Mail Services.
Prior to her current role, Ms. O’Meara was Executive Vice President and Chief Legal and Compliance Officer for Pitney Bowes, responsible for the legal affairs of the company, and where she also led the areas of Intellectual Property, Environmental Health & Safety, Corporate Governance, Global Ethics and the Office of the Corporate Secretary.
Prior to joining Pitney Bowes, Ms. O’Meara was President, U.S. Supply Chain Solutions, for Ryder Systems, Inc. since 2005, leading a $2 billion business segment with three operating divisions (dedicated transportation, warehouse/distribution management, and transportation management), and was a member of the Ryder Senior Executive Leadership Team.
Before being named President of the business unit, she was Chief of Corporate Operations at Ryder from 2003 to 2005. In this capacity, she led the Corporate Strategy, Technology, Human Resources, Law, Safety, Security, Compliance, Facilities, Communications and Board functions. She joined Ryder in 1997 as Executive Vice President and General Counsel, where she also led the Government Relations, Environmental Health and Safety, and Security functions.
Ms. O’Meara has served in several federal government positions including Assistant Attorney General, Environment and Natural Resources Division for the U.S. Department of Justice, where she led a 300 attorney unit (nominated by President George H.W. Bush, 1992-93.) She was Deputy General Counsel of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency with responsibility for litigation and regulatory programs in 1987-88. In 1986, she was selected as a White House Fellow and served as Special Assistant to the White House Counsel and as Deputy Executive Secretary (Energy and Environment) of the Domestic Policy Cabinet Council. From 1982 through 1986, Ms. O’Meara was a Captain in the Army and served as Assistant to the General Council in the Honors Program of the Secretary of the Army.
Ms. O’Meara was a partner in the law firm Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, where she was the global head of the firm’s Environmental, Health & Safety section. She first joined the firm in 1988, left for government service in 1992, and rejoined the firm in 1993 until 1997. While at Jones Day, she also served as Special Counsel to the Governor of Illinois.
She received her B.A. (cum laude) from Cornell University and was named one of three Outstanding Seniors upon graduation. She received her J.D. from Northwestern University, where she was Executive Editor of the Law Review, and her MA from George Washington University in Environmental and Natural Resources Policy.
Ms. O’Meara is a member of the Board of Directors of Health Management Associates, Inc., a $4 billion NYSE company that operates general and acute care hospitals, headquartered in Naples, Florida, and was a member of the Board of Directors of Laidlaw, Inc., a $5 billion NYSE transportation company, prior to its acquisition by The First Group.
