Pitney Bowes Inc. Offers Dossia Personal Health Record to Employees

CAMBRIDGE, MA, March 1, 2010 – Dossia, a leading Personal Health Record Platform provider, today announced that two additional members of the Dossia Consortium are offering the Dossia Personal Health Record (PHR) Platform to their employees. On February 22, Pitney Bowes will offer a select group of employees the opportunity to take advantage of the Dossia PHR. The company plans to offer Dossia to all employees by April 2010. Intel plans to roll-out the Dossia platform to a select group of employees in late February. Intel and Pitney Bowes were both instrumental in the creation of Dossia and have played a significant role in its development.

“By offering the Dossia Personal Health Record to employees, Pitney Bowes aims to provide another tool that will help employees take control of their health,” said Andrew Gold, Executive Director of Global Benefits Planning. “The Dossia Personal Health Record helps centralize patient information, so that both the patient and doctor can make the best health care decisions for an individual and his or her family.”

“From our consumer plans and wellness programs to our on-site clinics, Intel is dedicated to empowering our employees and their families to improve their health.” said Tami Graham, Intel Global Benefits Design Director. “The true power this technology can create is a user experience that lives up to the promise of helping people optimize their health with real-time, easy access to their health information and engaging applications.”

This announcement follows that of another Dossia Founder, Vanguard Health Systems, which rolled-out the Dossia Personal Health Record to a select group of employees last month. Vanguard plans to offer the Dossia Personal Health Record to the remainder of its employees before the end of the year, and has announced future plans to offer Dossia to patients who attend one of its 15 acute care hospitals and complementary facilities.

“We are very excited to roll-out the Dossia Personal Health Record to two more of our Founders,” said Colin Evans, President and CEO of Dossia, and former Intel employee. “Dossia is steadily gaining momentum and is clearly emerging as the key solution to aid progressive employers who are taking proactive measures to help reduce their healthcare spending. We’re working very hard to build the best platform possible and to provide users with a valuable tool that they can use to take control of their health and better navigate the health care system.”

Dossia Founders are cooperating to provide their employees with access to and control over their personal health information, with the goal of improving the health of their employees while controlling their healthcare spending.
