Pitney Bowes' Group 1 Software Announces Next-Generation Enterprise Content Management Solution

New Web-Based System Enables Organizations to Streamline Document-Related Business Processes

LANHAM, Md., July 11, 2007 - Group 1 Software, Inc., a Pitney Bowes Company (NYSE: PBI), today announced the release of OpenEDMS, a web-based software system providing document management, records management, document imaging, collaboration, workflow, and integrated document archive and retrieval.

As a next-generation enterprise content management solution, OpenEDMS helps organizations structure and manage millions of documents and enables them to streamline their business content creation, storage, review, tracking, sharing, and distribution processes. OpenEDMS can be deployed on any platform that supports Java technology and can be securely accessed from web browsers, wireless devices, and desktop applications.

California Air Resource Board (CARB) has implemented OpenEDMS document management and workflow modules to streamline its air emissions certification process. The administrative and reporting modules are very easy to use, said Ivonne Stubbington, system administrator. OpenEDMS has many options to facilitate the administration of user accounts, document classes and metadata, workflow templates, group definitions, etc.

We are excited about the newest addition to our Customer Communication Management solution set, said Christopher Baker, president of Group 1 Software. The legacy ECM market is well known for complex systems, failed implementations and massive project cost overruns. OpenEDMS was built from the ground up to be the easiest ECM solution to install, configure and use in a totally web-based environment. Its combination of simplicity and power differentiates it in a very crowded market.

OpenEDMS, from the recently acquired Altimate Systems, is the newest addition to Group 1 Softwares Customer Communications Management (CCM) portfolio, which simplifies the gathering and manipulation of data, streamlines document creation and distribution, and ensures that information is accessible and secure. Group 1 Software continues to round out the CCM portfolio to ensure it consistently delivers the highest efficiency document creation, management and distribution at the lowest possible cost.
